Hebrews 10:24–25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
The Prince of Darkness really exists.
His kingdom is weird and twisted. The world is a dark place.
His people are dark people. They are blind men and women who consistenly prefer the darkness to the light.
His dark influence still troubles me. Yes, though I be a child of the light, one enjoying the free grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, I continually find myself tempted and sadly listening to the sinful suggestions of my former Dark Lord.
I think it’s going to get worse. Though tribulation is at hand, it does appear a special day or season of intense tribulation might be coming in the future. The darkness is spreading.
However, it’s also going to get better. The Light of the World is shining more and more, and the Lord’s Day is coming as well.
So, how should we live in this dark day? What should we do as the “Prince of Darkness” is fondly remembered and lauded?
As Children of the Light, called to radiate the light of Christ, we should gather together, encourage one another to love and live differently, and we should do so with increasing frequency.
Oh friend, consider the counsel of our Good Teacher.
Sure, the universal church is a spiritual and unseen group.
However, the visible church is an assembly, a gathering, or a congregation. It is a family made up of many members. It is a body made up of many parts. It is a kingdom, an army, a flock, and it is our Savior’s good desire that we meet more often as the Day approaches.
